FAQ
What is the BCM?
The BCM is a student organization at East Tennessee State Universty. Our “home” is the BCM building (known as "The B"), located on the south side of the ETSU Campus. BCM is an acronym for the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. The BCM provides opportunities for spiritual growth, making friends, leadership, service, and missions. We have everything from big events with up to a couple of hundred people, to small groups, and one-on-one mentoring, so there is a place that is just right for you!
No. We are a ministry supported by dozens of area churches. The BCM encourages all our students to be actively involved in a local church; we never want to take the place of church in anyone’s life. One of our goals is to help you find a great church for you to connect with.
What if I’m a transfer student?
Lots of transfer and graduate students come to the BCM. So don’t hesitate to get involved! We also have a Student Leadership team you can apply to serve on.
Do I have to be Baptist?
Absolutely not! The BCM is sponsored by local Southern Baptist churches and is open to all ETSU (and other area colleges) students! So come on by the BCM, everyone is welcome!
What happens at your building?
The ETSU BCM building is open Monday through Friday for you to chill with friends, study, and just break away from the campus. We have a hammock garden, yard games, comfy couches, netflix, a ping pong table, a pool table, free wi-fi, a great computer lab, and a cabinet full of games. It’s an amazing place to hang out and meet people. We hope you will come by often!
How do I join?
Just start coming! Our events are open to any ETSU and other area college students, and our group is diverse.
